Oscar Gonzalez Pulls Tabs for a Cause

Collecting aluminum pull tabs to help families staying at the Ronald McDonald House is similar to Oscar’s hometown charity, Bottle Caps for a Cause, which recycles the caps to help kids with cancer in the Dominican Republic.

This year, Oscar is teaming up with RMHC NEO and Pepsi, inviting Guardians fans to pitch in by donating aluminum bottle caps and pull tabs at Progressive Field. Money from the recycled caps and tabs will be used to help families staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and children battling illness in Gonzalez’ hometown in the Dominican Republic.

Oscar was also interviewed by Telemundo, along with RMHC NEO staff and families staying at the House, for this Spanish-language piece that aired that night:

END-OF-SEASON UPDATE

Oscar visited the Cleveland Ronald McDonald House in October to visit with families and deliver pull tabs that had been collected at Progressive Field. Oscar enjoyed playing with kids on the playground, and showed off his baby-holding skills!
